Below is the official Halo Wars ranking system requirments. These are accumilated from your over all XP score from the Xbox Live games you play.
Recruit = 0 (play 1 game)
Lieutenant = 25000
Captain = 60000
Major = 140000
Commander = 310000
Colonel = 700000
Brigadier = 1500000
General = 2400000 (unlocks ‘Running The Show’ – 50G)
